Back to school, back to routine and back to trying to think of ways to fill the family with healthy snacks on the go!
Try these healthy super quick protein balls, packed with protein, fibre and flavour, a perfect after school, mid morning or lunch time treat!
Can be made Gluten Free by using Gluten Free Oats.
Almond Cranberry Protein Balls
Ingredients
150g Whole Almonds
100g Oats (GF optional)
2 Scoops of Preferred protein powder Vanilla or Chocolate for that extra flavour
4 tbsp Almond Butter
2 tbsp Raw Cacao Powder
100 Dried Cranberries*
*(Cranberries contain higher levels of sugar naturally, Dates or Apricots can also be used)
2-3 tbsp Water
Method
Pop the almonds and oats into a food processor and blend, stop before it starts getting fine so you still have texture.
Add all of the remaining ingredients until mixed (if using dates or apricots i give them a rough chop beforehand so everything is even. Add the water slowly until the blend comes together.
Wet your hands and roll mixure till smooth into balls.
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Store in the fridge.
*This is a version of a recipe ive been using for a long time, its changed slightly over the years but if anyone can claim the orginal one let me know xx
